About The Huddle -
A Message from our Founder
If you’re reading this, chances are you know what it feels like to want connection but not quite know where to find it. Life gets busy. Friendships change. People move, careers shift, families grow, and suddenly the easy, built-in social circles we once had don’t feel so easy anymore. Maldon is a beautiful place to live, but even in a close-knit town, it’s possible to feel a little disconnected.
That’s where The Huddle comes in.
Why I Started The Huddle
The idea for The Huddle didn’t come from a business plan or a big “aha” moment. It came from conversations — the honest, quiet ones. Chats with women who love their lives but still feel like something’s missing. Women who want to meet new people, laugh more, try new things, and feel part of something without pressure or pretence.
I felt it too.
I wanted a space that wasn’t about networking, selling, or ticking boxes. A space where you don’t have to show up as anything other than yourself. Somewhere you can come alone and not feel awkward, where small talk can turn into real conversation, and where friendships can grow naturally.
The Huddle is my answer to that need.
What The Huddle Is (and Isn’t)
The Huddle is a social group for women, plain and simple. It’s about connection, community, and shared experiences.
It’s:
-
Welcoming and inclusive
-
Relaxed and friendly
-
Rooted in Maldon and the surrounding area
-
Open to women at all stages of life
It’s not:
-
A networking group
-
A therapy session
-
A clique
-
Another thing on your to-do list that feels like a chore
You don’t need to be “good at socialising.” You don’t need to bring a friend. You don’t need to explain yourself. You just need to show up.
What We’ll Do Together
The Huddle will host a mix of get-togethers — think coffee mornings, walks, casual evenings, creative sessions, and the odd spontaneous idea that just feels right. Nothing overly formal, nothing forced.
Some events might be chatty, some quieter. Some might get us moving, others might involve sitting down with a drink and good company. The common thread is connection — real, human connection.
You can come to one event or many. There’s no pressure, no expectations, and no judgement if life gets in the way.
Who The Huddle Is For
The Huddle is for you if:
-
You’re new to the area and want to meet people
-
You’ve lived here forever but want to widen your circle
-
Your life has changed and your social life hasn’t caught up yet
-
You’re craving community but not sure where to start
You don’t need a label or a reason. If the idea of The Huddle resonates with you, you belong here.
